Venezuelans trying to counter Chavez's efforts to create a socialist nation were able to shelve their differences long enough to beat back his constitutional referendum in the Dec. 2 vote. At the same time, sustaining that unity will require a search for common ground beyond their mutual dislike for the president's power grab.
